Alex practises predominately in commercial law. He has a broad practice with interests in building and construction, intellectual property and media law. He has particular expertise in matters arising under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 (Vic).
Before joining the Bar, Alex was an Associate in the building and construction team at Piper Alderman. Alex was Associate to the Honourable Justice Jonathan Beach in the Federal Court of Australia between 2018 and 2019.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in physics and a minor in mathematics, as well as a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from Monash University.
He is dedicated to pro bono work and has volunteered at Peninsula Community Legal Centre since 2009.
Alex is read with Craig Smith, and his senior mentor is Michael Roberts QC.
