Joh has a diverse practice and accepts briefs in all general commercial, insurance, criminal, quasi-criminal, appeals, inquests, regulatory and human rights law matters. Joh also has an interest in sports law and sits as a member of the Victorian Amateur Football Association tribunal.
Prior to coming to the Bar Joh was a registry lawyer at the Court of Appeal where she gained valuable experience in appellate crime through managing a large case load of sentence and conviction appeals.
Joh was an Associate at the County Court for a judge who sat in the Sexual Offences List. Through this role, Joh was exposed to a wide range of criminal matters - pleas, trials, regulatory matters, supervision orders and appeals.
As an undergraduate Joh interned with the International Organization for Migration in Phnom Penh and worked on HIV and human trafficking, protection of human rights projects in Cambodia.
Joh is currently undertaking a Masters of Law at Melbourne University in planning, intellectual property, international crime and sports law. She has also been a sessional tutor at Australian Catholic University in criminal law and procedure.
Joh read with Ben Ihle QC and her senior mentor was Colin Golvan AM QC. Her second mentor was Megan Tittensor SC.
Prior to the law Joh owned a successful 'Good Food Guide' restaurant and was a ski instructor. She also speaks Japanese fluently.
