Huw's practice at the bar incorporates general corporate and commercial law, building and construction and international arbitration. He appears in all jurisdictions in Australia and in domestic and international arbitrations. He is admitted to the bar in Australia and the UK.
Huw has extensive experience in acting in bilingual disputes, having spent much of his time in Tokyo and in Australia working on disputes in Japanese (including all facets of case preparation and conduct such as discovery, preparation of evidence and witness proofing).

Huw is a fellow of ACICA and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He teaches International Dispute Resolution subjects internationally and also teaches at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law. Huw has served as a member of the Vicbar Arbitration Committee and the Commbar Civil Procedure Committee.

Huw has been ranked as a leading arbitration barrister in Doyle's Guide 2022 and 2023. He is a committee member of the Victorian Bar Arbitration Committee and the Australian Bar Association International Committee. Huw is listed as an arbitrator with ACICA, SIAC (Reserve List), AIAC, THAC, JCAA, VCAS and Arbitration Victoria.
Construction
Huw has acted as counsel in numerous international disputes relating large scale projects in Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. He also continues to appear in a wide range of general construction disputes across a range of Courts and Tribunals in Australia.
Prior to coming to the bar, Huw worked as a Senior Associate at Ashurst. Huw read with Richard J Harris and his senior mentor is Philip Solomon KC.
