Julia practises principally in public and employment law related areas.
Her practice has a strong advocacy focus and she appears regularly in trial and appellate courts and tribunals both led and unled.
Her public law practice includes advising and acting on behalf of and against State and Commonwealth Government clients. She has particular expertise in judicial review of administrative decisions and actions.
Julia appears and advises in employment law matters including in the areas of underpayment and unfair dismissal. She provides advice to Government entities including the Fair Work Commission.
Before coming to the bar, Julia was a Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor in the Administrative Law and the Employment and Compensation Law teams. She was also a Solicitor at the Crown Solicitor’s Office of South Australia specialising in public law, regulatory prosecutions and disciplinary proceedings. She undertook solicitor advocacy in the majority of her matters as a solicitor. Julia was also associate to Justice Sulan of the Supreme Court of South Australia.
