Before coming to the bar, Nick was Counsel Assisting the then Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth, Stephen Gageler SC (2008-2009). He also practised as a solicitor in the Office of General Counsel of the Australian Government Solicitor (2005-2008, 2009-2011), and at Baker & McKenzie (2003-2004). He was an associate to Beaumont J of the Federal Court (2004).
