Jonathon conducts a general civil law practice with a particular focus on mediation and family dispute resolution. Jonathon has extensive experience as a mediator and as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner for the purposes of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth). Jonathon is available to act as mediator or represent clients at mediations in all areas of the law.
As a barrister, Jonathon's practice is focussed predominantly in the commercial law area. Jonathon is particularly skilled in the drafting of pleadings and in providing complex legal advice. Jonathon has been a sessional lecturer and tutor of Contract Law at Victoria University, Melbourne CBD campus. Jonathon has also been a member of the Magistrates’ Court Single List of External Mediators and the mediator panels of the Office of the Victorian Small Business Commissioner and of the Law Institute of Victoria. Prior to coming to the Bar, Jonathon was a solicitor at Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper) and at Harris Carlson Lawyers. He has also worked in a tax consulting role with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. He studied at the University of Tasmania and the University of New South Wales. Jonathon received his qualifcation in family dispute resolution from the training arm of Relationships Australia (Vic).
