Meg has a busy trial and advice practice spanning commercial law, equity & trusts, property and torts. Meg appears led and unled in all state courts and tribunals and the federal court. A selection of recent cases in which Meg has acted include:
Equity & trusts
Meg acts and advises in property disputes (at first instance and on appeal) including easement disputes, trespass, owners’ corporation cases, road & drains, and nuisance causing property damage. Examples of recent cases include:
Direct briefs and regulator work
Meg acts for regulators (presently, ASIC). She accepts direct briefs (including from in-house counsel) and briefs to advise.
Meg is a member of the Pro Bono Committee of the Victorian Bar. She is a former Victorian Bar Councillor (2018-2020) and a former member of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee of the Victorian Bar (2018-2020), the Counsel Committee of the Victorian Bar (2018-2020) and a former member of the Executive of the Commercial Bar Association.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Meg was a solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons). At Mallesons, Meg's practice comprised commercial litigation and administrative law. Meg has an honours degree in Philosophy. At University, she was an accomplished mooter and debater and won the World University Debating Championships.
