Dr Andrew Hanak QC is a member of the Victorian Bar practicing in commercial law.
Andrew has substantial experience in providing advice and appearing in matters at both trial and appellate level in Superior Courts and Statutory Tribunals. He also accepts briefs in commercial arbitration disputes (both domestic and international,).
Andrew is frequently briefed in matters arising in a complex factual or legal setting, including multi party disputes and disputes involving a substantial body of expert evidence. He is recognised as a thorough and considered advocate who pursues a strategic approach to dispute resolution.
Areas of practice
Andrew practises in all aspects of commercial law. He has been briefed in a wide range of commercial matters including disputes in the following areas: contract, corporations and securities, equity and trusts, insolvency, insurance and re-insurance, professional liability, property, mortgages and securities, torts, technology, superannuation and trade practices. He has been briefed to appear in a number of appeals in the Victorian Court of Appeal and in the High Court of Australia. He has also acted for parties who have been required to give evidence in Royal Commissions and has advised on and appeared in both domestic and international arbitration disputes.
