Peter completed articles at Nevett Ford Lawyers in Ballarat, before returning to their Melbourne office and practicing in civil and commercial litigation.He came to the Bar in 1993, with an initial practice in both the commercial and criminal jurisdictions. Peter's practice in his two decades at the Bar has divided into two parts: In the criminal jurisdiction, he has appeared in all Victorian courts, both prosecuting and defending in a wide range of matters. He regularly appears on behalf of the Office of Public Prosecutions in the County and Magistrates Courts.In addition, he represents statutory and local government authorities in prosecutions, both in the Magistrates Court and at the County Court and VCAT at the appellate level. He also is briefed to appear for defendants in local government prosecutionsIn his commercial litigation practice, Peter has appeared in trials and hearings in all state jurisdictions, including VCAT, as well as the Federal Court. Peter has expertise acting in contractual matters, directors and shareholders disputes, insurance litigation and alternative dispute resolution.Outside his practice, he was a weekly volunteer for at the Western Suburbs Legal Service in Newport for over a decade, where in addition to advising clients he also lectured student sand other volunteers on criminal and civil procedure. He continues to provide training in Victorian Civil Procedure.
