Profile:
George was educated at St. Bernard's C.B.C., Niddrie where he matriculated in 1965 with 1st. class honours Physics, Chemistry, Pure Mathematics, Calculus and Applied Mathematics.
George studied Medicine at Melbourne University 1966 to 1968. He initially ceased his studies in 1969 and took employment with Dun and Bradstreet 1969 - 72 and Australian Guarantee Corporation 1972 – 74.
George resumed studies in 1975 commencing 1st. year Law at James Cook University, North Queensland in 1975, and later Melbourne University 1976-78 from where he graduated LLB. (Hons.)
After attending Leo Cussen Institute in 1979 George took a position as Associate to His Honour Judge Kelly of the County Court 1980 – 82.
George signed the Bar Roll in 1982 and since then has practised extensively in the criminal jurisdiction, and occasionally in other jurisdictions. He has appeared in interstate courts and also in several cases in the Solomon Islands involving commercial disputes.
