Profile:
Courtney accepts briefs to advise and appear in criminal and quasi-criminal matters, including administrative and regulatory matters.
Prior to joining the bar, Courtney was a Senior Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid. Before that, she practised as a solicitor advocate at Stary Norton Halphen Criminal Lawyers.
Her practice has included having carriage over and appearing in a broad range of indictable and summary matters, including violent offences, sex offences and drug matters. Courtney has appeared in both the Magistrates’ Court and the County Court.
Before being admitted to practice, Courtney was Associate to His Honour Justice Lasry AM and then to Her Honour Justice Jane Dixon of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Courtney is reading with Amelia Beech and her senior mentor is Ruth Shann SC.
