Before being called to the bar Elarya practiced predominantly in criminal law acting for the defence. She regularly appears in the Magistrates and County Courts and has assisted in bail applications in the Supreme Court. Relishing a fast paced working environment Elarya appeared as Duty Lawyer in both criminal and intervention order matters.
Elarya worked as a sole practitioner, so she understands the needs of solicitors and the expectations of their clients.
With expansion of skills in mind, Elarya is interested in working in Children’s Law, Military law, and Migration Law. She has been admitted as a Practitioner of the High Court of Australia.
Elarya is currently reading with Paul Kounnas and her senior mentor is Dr Felicity Gerry KC
