Alison Martyn practises in commercial and public law.
Alison comes to the Bar with a broad range of litigation experience. She has acted for companies, government entities, directors and other individuals in various complex matters, including class actions, regulatory investigations, public inquiries, judicial review proceedings, breach of contract cases and negligence claims.
Alison was a Senior Associate at Herbert Smith Freehills where she specialised in class actions and other large-scale disputes for clients in the government, financial services and life sciences sectors. Alison also previously worked as a solicitor at Clayton Utz in the litigation team and at the UK Government Legal Department in the public law litigation division (Australian qualified).
She was an Associate to the Honourable Justice John Griffiths at the Federal Court of Australia.
Alison was educated at the London School of Economics (Master of Laws with Distinction) and the University of Melbourne (Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Arts).
