Jonathan accepts briefs to appear and advise in all criminal and quasi-criminal law matters, including administrative law.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Jonathan was employed as a Senior Associate at Stary Norton Halphen. Jonathan was a solicitor advocate for over six years. He had carriage of a high file-load of both summary and indictable matters. He was the managing lawyer of the Geelong office of Stary Norton Halphen for three years where he also gained experience in various circuit courts. He instructed in the full range of criminal matters across all Court levels, including complex trials and appeals in the County Court and Supreme Court, conviction and/or sentence appeals in the Court of Appeal and special leave applications in the High Court.
Jonathan has appeared, unled, in the following matters:
- pleas and bail applications in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court and Supreme Court;
- contested committals and summary contested hearings in the Magistrates’ Court;
- conviction and sentence appeals, and Crimes Mental Impairment major reviews and applications for extended leave in the County Court.
Jonathan has also appeared, led, in trials in the County Court and Supreme Court.
