Since 2001, Peter has advised and represented clients in commercial disputes and federal and state tax disputes, at trial and appellate levels, in the High Court of Australia, the Supreme, County and Magistrates’ Courts of Victoria, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the Federal Court of Australia and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
In 2003, he assisted Chris Maxwell QC (now President of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria) with his review of, and report on, the Victorian OH&S legislation, which led to the enactment of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.
Peter graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws. Before coming to the Bar, Peter practised as a solicitor in Perth and Melbourne. He was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1988 and in Victoria in 1994. He was associate to Justice Chernov of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2000.
