Elle accepts briefs in all areas of criminal law and related areas, including post-sentence applications, regulatory matters, inquests and inquiries. Elle comes to the Bar with over 9 years’ experience as a solicitor.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Elle was a legal practitioner at Australian Government Solicitor and at the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
As a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the CDPP, Elle developed particular expertise in Commonwealth drug offences and child sexual exploitation offences. Elle regularly appeared in the Magistrates’ Court and County Court jurisdictions.
Elle was a Senior Lawyer at Australian Government Solicitor in the Law Enforcement team. Elle specialised in Commonwealth post-sentence applications in respect of people convicted of terrorism and foreign incursions offences.
Elle began her career as a solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons in Melbourne. Prior to that she was the Associate to the Honourable Justice Pullin QC (now retired) of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Court of Appeal.
Elle has a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
