Update on the AMDRAS Transitional provisions

4Jun2024

Those who are currently accredited under the National Mediation Accreditation System (NMAS) will need to be aware of the requirements under AMDRAS and of the transitional provisions that apply.

Mediators who are currently accredited under the NMAS may be subject to the transitional arrangements under the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation System (AMDRAS). The AMDRAS is a new stage in accreditation of dispute resolution and is in response to the evolution of professionalism within dispute resolution practice and has been developed over widespread industry consultation following the extensive NMAS review. AMDRAS will have Accredited Mediator, Advanced Mediator and Leading Mediator, three different levels of accreditation which are also subject to specialisation within these in particular areas.
