Pro bono: A professional obligation?

In this seminar, Emrys will discuss the place of pro bono work in the practice of a barrister working in Victoria today.  The discussion will include the rules and practices of courts; institutional frameworks; current cultural expectations and norms; ethical responsibility; and the rule of law.  The seminar will ask the question whether pro bono work now forms part of the professional obligations of a barrister.
