Legal issues in cybersecurity

Dr Vanessa Teague, CEO of Thinking Cybersecurity and Associate Prof (Adj) in the Research School of Computer Science at the Australian National University, will discuss two examples in which mathematics and computing are relevant to the law:

1. data de-identification and the Medicare-PBS dataset; and
2. the NSW iVote case, where Vanessa gave expert evidence.

Daniel Calleja, Chief Information Officer of Barristers’ Chambers Ltd, will also speak on cybersecurity measures taken by BCL.
