Civil penalty enforcement in the energy sector: the regulators’ view

Over the last few years, both the Australian Energy Regulator and the Victorian Essential Services Commission have been increasingly active in pursuing enforcement action against energy companies, and both regulators have recently been given enhanced enforcement powers and maximum penalties. 

Leaders from each regulator will speak to their agency’s recent enforcement experience and outlook, with emphasis on enforcement through civil penalty proceedings.
