Anna accepts briefs in all criminal and public law matters, including in administrative law, professional disciplinary and regulatory proceedings, coronial inquests, inquiries and royal commissions.
Anna has 13 years’ legal experience in criminal law and public law. She has appeared in and advised on a broad range of criminal law matters, royal commissions and professional disciplinary proceedings. She has appeared as counsel assisting in IBAC and the Coroners Court. Anna has a particular interest in medico-legal issues arising in a criminal and public law context.
Prior to joining the Bar Anna was a Principal Solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions where she worked on criminal matters in all Victorian jurisdictions including trials, appeals, advice, extraditions, suppression orders, and Coroners Court referrals. She instructed in the AB & EF v CD (Lawyer X) High Court proceedings and the subsequent Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants.
Anna previously worked at Minter Ellison where her practice focused on health practitioner professional disciplinary proceedings, and on matters under the serious offenders post-sentence supervision regime.
Anna holds a Master of Laws (cum laude) in international criminal law. She completed her thesis on female involvement (as offenders) in human trafficking and undertook an internship at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She remains interested in transnational and international criminal justice issues and was Vice-President and internship coordinator of Reprieve Australia, for which she worked in Texas and Melbourne against capital punishment. Anna also spent seven years as a board member of the Moonee Valley Legal Service.
