James Hooper is available to appear and advise in all areas of employment and industrial law. James also accepts briefs in personal injury law.
Prior to coming to the bar James worked as a solicitor for over 12 years in the area of employment and industrial law. James’ initial years of practice were spent at specialist employment law firm A.J. Macken and Co. and he then spent a number of years providing employment and industrial advice and representation at the Victorian Hospitals ' Industrial Association and Workplace Legal.
James has extensive experience advising, representing and appearing for both employers and employees. James has appears in all Victorian Courts, the Federal Circuit Court, the Fair Work Commission, the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission and the Australian Human Rights Commission.
James has considerable experience in mediation and conciliation processes.
James holds a Master of Labour Relations Law (Melbourne University) (2007).
James read with Craig Dowling and his Senior Mentor is Warren Friend SC.
