Andrew has 20 years broad experience in the conduct of all kinds of criminal proceedings and proceeds of crime (civil) litigation. He first practiced as a solicitor at the Victorian OPP for 7 years during which he worked in the Appeals, General and Commercial Crime sections of that Office. He then moved to the Commonwealth DPP where for over 10 years he worked in the CDPP’s Tax, Criminal Assets and General Prosecutions branches. He managed workgroups in both the Criminal Assets and General Prosecutions branches. Andrew also worked in Port Moresby for 3 years as an adviser and Senior State Prosecutor in the PNG Office of the Public Prosecutor. Among other things, he assisted the PNG OPP to establish a specialist unit to conduct proceeds of crime litigation and international crime cooperation matters.
As counsel, Andrew has appeared in appeals, pleas, committals, summary contests, bail applications and proceeds of crime proceedings in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court, Supreme Court and the PNG National Court.
