Profile:
James practises in all areas of commercial law. He has substantial experience in corporate law, trade practices, insolvency, property and class actions. James also has public and regulatory law experience, having acted for and against regulators (including ASIC and the ACCC) and in Royal Commissions.
Before coming to the bar, James was a solicitor in the commercial litigation group of Herbert Smith Freehills. He holds a LLM from the University of Cambridge, having attained first class honours at an undergraduate level in Australia. His graduate studies primarily concerned private international law, restitution and statutory interpretation.
James was previously an associate to the Honourable Justice Sifris of the Supreme Court of Victoria. He read with Dr Oren Bigos SC and his senior mentor is Philip Solomon QC.
