Peter's practice covers the areas of -
- planning, land use and development (including town planning, infrastructure, land valuation, planning offences and body corporate);
- environment (including approvals, licensing, environmental effects and offences);
- property (including leasing, recovery of land, easements & covenants, compulsory acquisition, COVID-19-related);
- commercial disputes (including contract, building/ BCISPA claims, corporations and equity);
- administrative law (judicial and merits review);
- defamation; and
- criminal law (including regulatory offences and white collar).
Peter has over 20 years' legal experience as a solicitor (1999-2012) and barrister (2013 onwards), as well as business management experience in private industry. He regularly appears (both led and unled) on behalf of private and public sector clients in all levels of courts, tribunals, planning panels, commissions and mediations in both Victoria and Queensland and has done extensive advisory work for individuals, businesses and property developers to Councils and infrastructure authorities.
He has appeared in high-profile, major project matters such as the West Gate Tunnel EES hearings, successfully run prosecutions and trials and has been counsel assisting in disciplinary tribunals constituted by national sporting organisations. Prior to his call to the Bar, he worked as in-house Counsel for state government departments, an infrastructure authority and as a solicitor in top-tier law firms.
