Anna practises in public and commercial law. Anna has particular expertise in competition and consumer law, royal commissions, and government advice work. She is briefed to advise and appear in competition and consumer law and other regulatory and consumer protection proceedings and investigations, as well as in administrative and constitutional law matters in State and Federal courts. Anna has represented the State government in a range of royal commissions and inquiries.
Before coming to the Bar, Anna was a Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor. Anna acted for the Commonwealth in large litigation matters, including the international investor-state arbitration and World Trade Organisation proceedings concerning Australia’s tobacco plain packaging legislation. Anna was also seconded to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and worked for the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry.
Anna was previously an associate to the Honourable Justice Keane AC and to the Honourable Chief Justice Michael Black AC.
Anna has a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, where she studied as a Lionel Murphy Scholar, and degrees in Arts and Law with first class honours from the University of Queensland. Anna has also lectured in public law and statutory interpretation at Monash University.
