Simone has a broad practice covering several areas of law, commensurate with her previous experience. Before coming to the Bar, Simone worked for the Government in Canberra rewriting the Navigation Act 1912, then moved to the private sphere (and NSW) to specialize in maritime law, before returning to Melbourne to accept an Associateship with His Honour Justice Osborn of the Supreme Court. At the Court Simone sat principally in the civil jurisdiction, as well as periods in Crime and the Court of Appeal.Simone then returned to shipping and commercial law, joining the Shipping and Trade Group of an international law firm, before being called to the Bar.She has a broad commercial practice that includes corporations, insolvency, insurance, aviation and of course maritime law.Simone has been involved in a number of maritime inquests and arbitrations. In her previous work as a solicitor she also assisted in the formulation of new arbitration rules.Simone is also experienced in civil law disputes, specializing in the areas of personal injury and workcover claims.She has a developing Sports Law practice and frequently appears in a number of Tribunals.
