Profile:
Nick practices in all areas of criminal law, including matters brought under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
He conducts trials and pleas in the County Court and Appellant work in the Court of Appeal. He has experience in disciplinary hearings at VCAT and in compulsory hearings. In addition, he is experienced in matters under the Serious Sex Offender (Detention and Supervision) Act and Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act.Â
Nick previously worked at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and for the United Nations at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal in Cambodia. He worked at the Victorian Office of Public Prosecutions for more than four years. Nick also worked at the Flemington and Kensington Community Legal Centre.
Nick completed a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne in 2013 with a focus on criminal and international law. He has been published in the International Criminal Law Review.
Nick is a Victoria Legal Aid Criminal Trial preferred barrister and is an accredited specialist criminal law advocate under the Victorian Bar's Indictable Crime Certificate program.
He read with the Honourable Justice Christopher Beale QC.
