Before joining the Bar, Fotini worked with Community Correctional Services. Over a 10 year period, she worked in various portfolios and with a wide range of clients.
Fotini also worked with the Equal Opportunity Commission - investigating and conciliating complaints lodged pursuant to the Equal Opportunity Act and the federal anti-discrimination laws.
After being admitted as a Solicitor in 2004, Fotini worked with the Transport Accident Commission. In this capacity, she was principally involved in the resolution of disputes at VCAT.
Fotini has a wealth of experience in criminal law and a particular interest in representing high needs and special needs clients.
Dealing with appeals to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) - regarding Centrelink decisions - is of considerable interest and Fotini brings many skills to such Briefs. Fotini is available to provide advice and support in such matters.
Fotini was an instructor at Leo Cussen Centre for Law between 2012 to 2021 - instructing in Ethics and Advocacy. Fotini tutored Criminal Procedure and Criminal Law at Deakin University between 2013 - 2018 and Criminal Law and Evidence and Criminal Procedure at La Trobe University between 2017 and 2020. Fotini was involved in the Deakin Criminal Law Clinic between 2017 and 2020.
Fotini is a sessional legal member of the Mental Health Tribunal (since March 2021) and a Panel Member of the Suitability Panel (since 2016).
Fotini is fluent in written and spoken Greek.
