Profile:
Philip Hayes was admitted to practice in 1996 and signed the Bar Roll in 2002.Philip's recent experience encompassed a wide range of commercial and criminal litigation; focusing on construction, corporations and insolvency law.As a solicitor in the Construction and Engineering group at Maddocks, Philip advised broadly on the application of State and Federal building legislation. Philip developed extensive advocacy experience prosecuting offences under the relevant Building and Planning Acts and also appeared for clients in mediations and compulsory conferences at VCAT.
Prior to Maddocks, Philip was at Gadens Lawyers, where he advised on contractual disputes, insolvency and corporations law.Before entering private practice, Philip worked as a Solicitor at both the Australian Securities and Investment Commission and the Office of Public Prosecutions where he prepared and instructed in County and Supreme Court trials and was involved in the prosecution of commercial crime matters.
Philip completed his articles at the Department of Treasury and Finance providing advice on government policy, legal compliance and risk management issues.
