Justin studied for his law degree and arts degreee at the Unversity of Melbourne. In March 1997, he came to the Bar and read with one of the states' best-regarded criminal advocates, Joe Gullaci (from 2002, His Honour Judge Gullaci). Justin has worked exclusively in the criminal jurisdiction at all levels since then, including R v Maxwell [2003] VSC 278 (a mercy killing case) and R v Micevic in 2005 (the David Hookes manslaughter case). He has worked as junior, inter alia, to Graham Hicks QC (now His Honor Judge Hicks), Ray Elston QC, Chris Dane QC and Chris Ryan QC (now His Honour Judge Ryan). nbsp;
