Tom accepts briefs in criminal, quasi-criminal, disciplinary, administrative and regulatory law, including matters of inquiry. He is available to appear in all metropolitan and regional courts across Victoria.
Tom frequently appears in committals, pleas and contested matters in both the Magistrates’ and County Courts.
Tom welcomes briefs to advise on government and regulatory matters. Tom’s experience in this area includes advice and appearances in Occupational Health and Safety and Victorian Building Authority matters.
Immediately prior to being called to the Bar, Tom was an Associate to His Honour Judge Johns QC. Tom assisted His Honour who presided over a diverse range of matters in the criminal division including Koori Court pleas, jury trials, special hearings, post-sentence supervision and fitness investigations.
Tom also has experience in the coronial jurisdiction as a Family Violence Case Investigator who investigated family violence related homicides and suicides on behalf of the State Coroner.
Before practise, Tom worked on complex legal reforms relating to the Royal Commissions into Family Violence and Management of Police Informants.
