Prior to coming to the Bar, Daniel worked as a solicitor for several years at Wisewould Mahony, in the areas of personal injury, family law, and property law. He primarily worked in the property law team and was regularly acting for large corporations and financial institutions. Additionally, he was team leader within the property law team. Daniel’s experience in the property law team mainly comprised of work relating to subdivisions, easements and restrictive covenants, mortgage and financial settlements, and leasing disputes.
He also had carriage of employment law matters involving underpayments, advising employees of workplace rights and claims against their employers.
Daniel also had carriage of a drug trafficking matter where the client was charged with trafficking in a commercial quantity of cannabis. Daniel successfully achieved an outcome where the client was placed on a diversion program.
Since coming to the Bar, Daniel has been briefed by both the Crown and Defence in a wide range of criminal matters, appearing in bail applications, summary jurisdiction applications, committals and pleas. He is routinely instructed in all matters occurring in the Magistrates’ Court.
Daniel also has appeared routinely in IVO matters and child protection matters.
Daniel accepts briefs in all areas of criminal and quasi-criminal law. He also accepts briefs in intervention orders and child protection matters from both the Department, parents and ICLs.
Daniel has conversational language skills in Mandarin Chinese, giving him an understanding and edge in the global legal market.
