It is with deep regret that the Bar Council informs members of the death of Bryan Dwyer, who passed away on 31 July 2019.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bryan Maurice Dwyer will be held at Tobin Brothers Tree of Life Chapel, 1382 High Street, Malvern on Wednesday 14 August 2019, commencing at 11:00am. A private cremation will follow.
Bryan was admitted to practise in 1961 and enjoyed a successful career as a Lecturer in Law (later Senior Lecturer) at Monash Univerity between 1966 and 1997. He remained on the teaching staff at Monash until 2009.
Bryan came to the Bar in 1990, where he read with Maurice Phipps QC (later Judge Phipps of the Federal Circuit Court), then (when Phipps took silk) with Murray McInnis. He practised at the Bar until 1997, when he returned to academic teaching.
