Retired Victorian Bar member John Monahan passed away on 20 February 2020 at the age of 86 years.

Funeral service:

A funeral mass to celebrate the life of John Monahan will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 13 Fernhill Road, Sandringham on Friday 28 February 2020 commencing at 10am.

Rosary will be recited in the above church on Thursday 27 February 2020 commencing at 7pm.

John was admitted to practise law in 1961.  He came to the Bar in 1962 and read with the Right Honourable Sir Ninian Stephen KG AK GCMG GCVO KBE QC.

John mentored four readers: Joseph Lenczner, Gabrielle Morgan, Peter Duffy and Her Honour Judge Katherine Bourke.
