Appointment & Welcome – Her Honour Judge Sarah Leighfield

Her Honour holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and served at the Bar for 12 years before becoming a Magistrate in 2016. Since then, she has led the sexual offences and committal mention lists for the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, mainly sitting on crime and family violence matters. Her Honour commenced her term as a Judge in the Criminal Division of the County Court on 10 June 2020.
