Appointment - Magistrate Shiva Pillai

MAGISTRATES’ COURT OF VICTORIA

The Governor in Council has appointed Shiva Pillai to the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.

His Honour Magistrate Pillai’s appointment commenced yesterday.

Magistrate Pillai was admitted to practice in 1999 and worked at Victoria Legal Aid before coming to the Bar in 2007. He read with George Georgiou SC, who was appointed a judge of the County Court the same day. Magistrate Pillai has predominately practised in criminal law.

The Bench Welcome for Magistrates’ Pillai and Dootjes has been confirmed for Tuesday 14 May at 9:15am in Court 1.
