SUPREME COURT OF VICTORIA
The Governor in Council has appointed Jacinta Forbes QC as a judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria, commencing today.
The Honourable Justice Forbes was admitted to practice in 1990 and came to the Bar in 2000. She was appointed silk in 2014.
Justice Forbes has contributed a great deal to the Bar through her work on a number of important committees and as a current member of Bar Council.
Most recently, as the Chair of the Equality and Diversity Committee and the Bar Council’s standing committee on Diversity and Inclusion, Justice Forbes has been instrumental in developing and implementing the Bar’s new conduct policies against bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment and has overseen the commencement and training of our Bar Conciliators.
The Profession will extend a welcome at a ceremonial sitting of the Supreme Court in the Banco Court of the Supreme Court, 210 William Street, Melbourne on:
