Appointment - The Hon Justice Quigley

Justice Quigley was appointed to the Supreme Court on 19 December 2017 and sworn-in the following day. Her Honour had practised Law for more than 30 years, more than 29 years as a Barrister and, of those, 15 years as Senior Counsel. Her Honour’s principal area of practice was in Administrative Law, in particular, Planning & Environmental Law and the Law of Land Acquisition & Valuation.

Her Honour will take office as the sixth President of VCAT on the eve of the Tribunal’s 20^th anniversary – Part I of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 1998 commenced on 2 June 1998 and the Tribunal came into operation on 1 July 1998. Her Honour will take it into its 21^st year.
