Appointment - Hon Anthony North QC

Mr North was admitted to practise in 1973 and called to the Victorian Bar in 1976, where he practised for nearly 20 years.

In 1995, Mr North was appointed a judge of the Federal Court of Australia, where he served until 2018. He was an additional judge of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory from 2004 to 2018.

Mr North will replace Acting Chairperson Bruce Gardner, who has served in the role since March 2019, following the death of the Honourable Phillip Cummins AM.
