AI & Legal Practice – Practicalities, Challenges & New Horizons
All barristers will soon need to grapple with artificial intelligence and its impact on legal practice. Many already are. A range of AI tools are now available to assist barristers with tasks like legal research and document review. Courts and tribunals are increasingly looking to harness AI to help them operate more efficiently and effectively. And across government and the private sector, people are using AI to complement (and in some cases entirely replace) decision-making by humans.
Building upon earlier CPDs concerning AI and the law, this half-day CPD comprises two sessions which will aim to cover some of the basics but also allow a deeper dive into some of the relevant issues. The half-day format will allow participants to engage further with the material and ask questions of the panellists.
The first session will focus on AI & Legal Practice. It will involve a discussion of AI tools and ethical issues (building upon earlier CPDs and allowing a more in-depth discussion).
The second session will focus on AI & Substantive Law. It will address issues such as the implications of the use of AI within government for administrative lawyers and employment lawyers.
These issues (and more) will be the focus of this half-day CPD which will include a range of expert speakers.
