Hosted by Victoria Law Foundation in conjunction with a number of other host organisations, this secular event is an excellent opportunity for informal networking in a festive, welcoming environment. Australian Bar Association Silks Dinner at the High Court

The dinner to mark the occasion of the new Silks taking their bows will be held in the Great Hall of the High Court of Australia on Tuesday 29 January 2008 at 7.00pm for 7.30pm. All barristers (not just the new Silks) and their partners are invited to attend. Dress will be black tie and the cost will be $150.00 per person. Members wishing to attend should complete the slip below and forward it, together with the appropriate payment, by Friday 11 January 2008.

A Full Court of the Supreme Court of Victoria will sit in the Banco Court at 9.15 am to receive the announcements of the appointment of Senior Counsel in and for the State of Victoria, followed by morning tea at 9.30 am in the Supreme Court Library.
A Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia will sit in Court One, Level 8, 305 William Street, Melbourne at 10.30 am to receive the announcements of the appointment of Senior Counsel in and for the State of Victoria.
Counsel are invited to attend both ceremonies, robed (without wigs in the Federal Court). Families, friends and children of the newly-appointed Silks are also welcome to attend the sittings.
