Profile:

|
After winning the Supreme Court Prize at Monash in 1989, Andrew completed his articles of clerkship in the media and litigation departments at Minter Ellison, Solicitors, before undertaking further studies at Oxford as the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholar in Law, becoming one of only a handful of Australians to have been awarded the Vinerian Scholarship for the best graduate in the BCL. On his return from Oxford, Andrew joined the teaching staff of the Law School at the University of Melbourne, where he now holds a position as an Associate Professor, and continues to do occasional teaching in the graduate program, in particular the subjects Advanced Evidence and Proof in Litigation. Andrew is the author of the texts Proof and the Preparation of Trials, and Australian Principles of Evidence, and of numerous articles on a variety of areas of law including evidence, proof, public law, the law of torts, and trade practices. Since signing the Bar Roll in 1999, Andrew has developed a wide-ranging and varied practice, appearing, either on his own or with Senior Counsel, in all Victorian and Federal courts, from the Magistrate's Court to the High Court.
