Election

How the Directors are elected

The directors of the Trustee are elected for a term of 3 years every 3 years. Elections were last held in September 2006 with the new directors taking office on 1 October 2006; the next elections will be held in September 2009.

At each election, the number of vacancies shall be 5.

Pursuant to the Fund’s Trust Deed, the Trustee has made Rules governing the election of directors of the Trustee.

Eligibility

To be eligible for election as a director, and to remain in office, a candidate or elected director (as the case may be):

(a) must be a Fund Member;
(b) shall not be a disqualified person within the meaning of the Superannuation Law (as defined in the Trust Deed) or otherwise ineligible under any relevant enactment or regulation; and
(c) must not have been removed pursuant to the Trustee's constitution or the election rules.

Subject to the above, a director is eligible for re-election.

In the event of a causal vacancy occurring between elections due to a director resigning or being ineligible to continue in office for any reason whatsoever, that vacancy may be filled by invitation of the remaining directors.
