It was established in 1959 and is owned by the Victorian Bar Council. Thursday 06 March 2008 200 QUEEN STREET – AICKIN CHAMBERS® Barristers' Chambers Limited is pleased to announce that the four levels of 200 Queen Street are occupied. The newly leased levels of 16, 30, 31 and 32 of 200 Queen Street provide premium accommodation for members of the Bar. more Monday 18 June 2007 BCL Building access Due to the shooting incident this morning, please be advised that the doors to 180 William Street, 205 William Street and 525 Lonsdale Street are on “Night Switch”. Security and maintenance staff are available to enable ingress and egress Mr John Rutter and BCL’s Maintenance Officers are available for people accessing our buildings. Building Managers of other BCL buildings are monitoring the situation. Police have advised that tenants should avoid leaving buildings, however it is believed that the weapon has been found. Information about the situation is available via the ABC News Service. more Thursday 29 March 2007 Email Interruption Outgoing email has been affected by a SPAM attack. This attack has been stemmed, however manual deletion of a backlog of tens of thousands of emails is currently underway and normal operations are expected to resume at approximately 11:40am. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. more Tuesday 20 March 2007 To Victorian Bar Telephone Users Due to an Optus fault, some external calls are not connecting and others are providing one-way speech only. Optus are presently working to correct the fault. Although this is an external issue, Barristers' Chambers Limited will endeavour to keep members up-to-date on the situation. more Wednesday 14 March 2007 Common Areas BCL endeavours to provide high quality chambers for members of the Victorian Bar. Paramount to this objective is the maintenance of foyers and other common areas at a high standard of presentation for the benefit of barristers, their employees and their clients. more Tuesday 06 March 2007 End of Lease: Latham Chambers The National Australia Bank (NAB) has advised BCL that it will not renew BCL’s lease of Latham Chambers®. The lease expires in March 2008. To enable BCL to continue to provide enough chambers to accommodate members of the Bar, BCL entered into an agreement to lease the top six floors and two mid floors at 200 Queen Street, Melbourne where BCL leases Level 27 known as Aickin Chambers®. more Tuesday 27 February 2007 CHANGES TO AFTER HOURS CONTACT NUMBER Please be advised that BCL has changed its Help Desk provider in relation to after hours service. more Wednesday 14 February 2007 Telephone System Upgrade Following the successful installation of amended software the system has returned to normal operations.
