Subscribers are charged the following (including GST):

(a) a connection fee comprising an infrastructure charge of $165;
(b) cabling charges that vary with the building
(c) a monthly access fee of $49.50; and
(d) a yearly Vicbar email charge of $27.50.

Cabling charges

Charges for cabling from hub switch to wall vary for connection in different BCL buildings, depending on the cabling and inter-connection requirements.

Most BCL chambers already have cabling installed, there will be no cabling charge if you do not require cabling.

Charges for cabling the following chambers are:

All prices include GST @ 10%.

Monthly access charges

BCL charges a monthly fee of $49.50 to cover Internet access, downloads and maintenance of the network infrastructure.

Email yearly fee

BCL charges an annual email establishment and maintenance charge for each address of $27.50.

A Vicbar email address is available to all barristers of the Victorian Bar and their staff - you do not need to be a member of the Vicbar Network.

NOTES:

1. When a member moves from a room that the member has cabled to a room that is not cabled and seeks connection to the Vicbar Network, the member must still pay for the cabling to the new room subject to the feasibility of a connection.

2. When a member moves from a cabled room to another cabled room and seeks connection to the Vicbar Network, the member must pay the infrastructure charge for that room but will not have to pay any additional costs for cabling.

3. All charges stated above may be varied without notice.

4. The supply of all Internet services is subject to the Vicbar Network's Internet connection policy. That policy may be varied from time to time without prior notice.

5. To connect to the system the computer needs to be programmed and an Ethernet card is required. There is an additional charge for programming, supply and installation which may be obtained by contacting one of the approved contractors listed below. Please note that this arrangement is between yourself and the contractor. Once cabling has been completed one of the following contractors will contact you to arrange an appointment.
