Purposes and objectives

The purposes and objectives of the Industrial Bar Association include:

  • To encourage participation by members of the association in continuing legal education programs, conferences and other outlets whereby the legal profession, other interested professional groups and the public may increase their knowledge and understanding of industrial and employment law.
  • To bring to the attention of members of the association, through the medium of regular meetings, matters of concern or interest relating to industrial and employment law.
  • To liaise with the Bar Council of the Victorian Bar in relation to matters relating to employment or industrial law and to ensure that, as far as practicable, consultation between the Bar Council and the association takes place before the Bar Council formulates policies or makes decisions on industrial or employment law matters.
