Joseph practices across a broad range of commercial matters, with particular focus on equity, trusts and wills and estates matters. He regularly appears in the Supreme Court both led and unled in a wide range of trust and succession law matters. He also accepts briefs in guardianship and administration, employment, insurance, and personal injury matters.
Prior to being called to the Bar Joseph was engaged as the Senior Lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria’s Trusts, Equity and Probate List. Joseph has extensive in Court experience in a broad range of succession law and trusts proceedings including:
a) contested probate/letters of administration applications;
b) limited grant applications;
c) testators’ family maintenance claims;
d) applications for judicial advice;
e) applications for the removal of executors/administrators;
f) applications for statutory wills; and
g) constructive/resulting trusts proceedings.
Joseph has delivered presentations with various judicial officers to both solicitors and counsel in relation to practical steps to manage wills and estate proceedings from initiation to final resolution and making expedient and successful applications in the Trusts, Equity and Probate list.
Prior to joining the Court, Joseph worked in the personal services division at a mid-tier law firm for 4 years following his admission as a solicitor in 2014. He focused on litigation and injury/insurance cases involving motor vehicle accidents and public liability claims.
