Kate accepts briefs across a range of criminal, regulatory, employment and common law matters, including disciplinary matters, inquests and inquiries, victims of crime, OHS, sexual harassment and institutional liability.
Kate has particular experience working with children and applying the laws of evidence.
Kate’s practice is trauma informed. She is committed to ensuring clients and witnesses understand the court process.
Before becoming a barrister, Kate practised for nine years as a solicitor – most recently as a Senior Solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions. In 2019, Kate was seconded to the Centre for Innovative Justice at RMIT University working with students at the Mental Health Legal Centre and the Fitzroy Legal Service. In 2014, Kate was Tipstaff to the Hon. Justice Julie Ward, President of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of NSW. Kate commenced legal practice in 2012 in commercial litigation and employment law at Ashurst Australia in Canberra.
