Profile
Barnaby practises principally in planning law and environment law. He also has particular expertise in administrative law, land valuation law, liquor and gaming law, and property law.
Barnaby regularly appears on behalf of both private and public sector clients before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Planning Panels Victoria, and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Barnaby is a Senior Fellow of the University of Melbourne where he lectures in planning law and environment law as part of the Melbourne Law Masters Program.

In 2007 Barnaby completed a LLM. degree at New York University (focusing on environment, land use and administrative law). Throughout 2008 he was a fellow of New York University’s Centre for Environmental Law and Land Use Law where he worked on the preparation of a textbook on environmental law (Richard L. Revesz, Environmental Law and Policy, Foundation Press (2008)).
Prior to joining the Bar Barnaby worked as an Associate in the Planning & Environment Group at Maddocks Lawyers.
